For your health and the health of our planet.

Snacks that are individually packaged are typically less healthy for you and they produce excess waste. Let's avoid them. Buy in bulk, and use reusable containers to pack your backpack. The environment will thank you for it.

5 tips to reduce our daily impact.

  1. Pack your lunches and snacks in reusable containers.
  2. Bring your own Tupperware to restaurants to minimize the amount of styrofoam packaging in the landfill.
  3. Successful advertising campaigns have us believing that bottled water provides us with health benefits that tap water does not. It doesn’t. In fact, some bottled water contains ingredients which may not be good for our health, such as the poorly tested sweetener, acesulfame-potassium. Make bottled water a thing of the past. We are fortunate to live in a country with clean tap water. Let’s drink it!
  4. Say no to drive-thru windows. Idling cars harm the environment, not to mention your wallet. The food inside isn’t usually that healthy for you either.
  5. For beverages you simply can’t live without (coffee, tea, etc), bring your own mug to your favourite café.

We are all responsible for our impact. Let's work together to reduce waste. Use cloth bags to get your groceries.

Summer Tip:
For picnics and family gatherings use dishes and cutlery that can be brought home and washed. Transport liquids in a thermos and give cloth napkins a try.

More Reasons to Pack Your Backpack with Reusable Containers:
114.5 million kilograms of paper cup waste enters landfills annually. That’s the weight of 22,900 elephants! *

North Americans use 900 million styrofoam cups annually. Stack them up and you get a hundred 75-story buildings! *
